Restaurant Depot is a wholesale cash and carry foodservice

When I went yesterday to RD, the woman working the desk was busy. I very briefly explained I was stopping in for a one day pass and she just handed me one. She did not ask for the coupon or anything!

Yep, the west bottoms KC store.  I work at 9th at Broadway (ok, Bank St actually but nobody knows where that one is) so it's a hop, skip and a jump over there after work.

Took my neighbor to RD today and between us we spent $425.00, but man did we get some great food.

I picked up another Angus Brisket, 7 lbs. or shrimp, 10lb port butt bone in, ribs, 5 lbs. bologna, duck and a bunch of side items!

Has anyone else made it to RD with their KSBS card?

Greg

I guess I am responsible for corrupting you with RD! I am sorry, lol. :P

It gets expensive doesn't it? It's like Disney World for BBQ addicts.

Your a bad man Jason :)

It's hard to not just keep putting stuff on the cart. They have so much to choose from, but I will try to pace myself !

I received my card the other day, and plan on getting down there soon. Had a bad storm come thru our area and having to patch my Dad's garage roof. Also fighting a sinus infection. If you take a guest you just pay for their items also then the guest pays you back?

Bill,

Yes you can bring a guest, you would just pay for the items and they can pay you back.

On my visit today to RD, I was looking for a briner (storage container) that would fit in the refrigerator for briskets. I have a Jr. Briner which is great, but the larger version it really to tall.....

So I found a great deal around $26.00 with lid, it would almost fit two briskets, not sure that will have happen at one time but who knows :)

I am sure most of you will relate, my better half asked... When will we be opening the new restaurant!

Since I am Greek and can only reply, when the time is right :)

/sigh...every time I hear the words Greek and restaurant together I want to go back to Mahn Mahn in Athens.  I swear I had a foodgasm there.  Heck, ignoring the ferry food (who was the idiot that bought food on the ferry?) I never had anything less than good over there.  Even fast food is rotisserie type meat and fresh veggies as souvlaki instead of the "meat" and "sauces" we have for fast food.  Only downfall is the food prices.

I agree the food there is amazing, I would love to take another trip to the islands.....

Oh well back to our regularly scheduled program :)

Hey Greg looks like that brisket is a little larger than the container? Just looks like the sides of the brisket would be pressed against the sides of the container. But, the price is right.

This week I am at a conference in Orlando and got a chance to visit the RD here.

When I walked in I showed the gal at the desk they KCBS coupon and she just handed me a one day pass!

This RD is larger than the one in Jacksonville, so I was able to pick up some items they did not have, including a new shelf for my smoker. The meat selection was about the same, but they had more condiments and cooking stuff.

It looks like they will be adding alcohol, so it should be interesting to visit again later in the year.

If I remember right Orlando is not that far from Jacksonville? I did not look when I was in the one here in Kansas City as was on the bike and a mission to get bacon. I picked up 15# for $35, the bacon has a good flavor just a little thin for me. But, I just use 4 strips instead of 3 on a bacon and tomato sandwich. Cannot beat that sandwich. And now that I have the pro 140 can purchase some steaks and other items to fill up the freezer. Did you hear about my deal on the #3 I purchased.
