I've finally made the jump to a real smoker. Been using a Brinkman electric my daughters gave me for Father's Day 3 years ago and just needed something better to smoke chicken, ribs and sausages. I have been scouring the net reading reviews and forums and totally convinced this is the one to beat hands down. My unit is due to ship on 5/11 and looking forward to its arrival. Some good smokin right around the corner. Can't wait.

As Greg said, welcome Dave. I too made the jump from a Brinkman to a smokin-it. As much as you think you will see a big difference, it will be more obvious than you figure. It is night and day. Read the forum posts to get through the first few smokes because your experience with the Brinkman smokes won't help a lot with the way the smokin-it works.
