OK thanks.  I hope the probes are not bad as the Maverick was a Christmas gift so it's brand new.  Just testing Maverick probes now based on room temps and all seems fine.

Might try testing them both in a glass of ice water, to check for 32° (don't submerse the wire end, though).

Thanks DM and Happy New Year. I did ice water test and I think the Maverick probes are fine as they went down to 36 F and came back up to room temp (72F) when removed from ice water.
