What does the collective wisdom/experience of the group suggest?

Would like to use the amazing pellet smoker on my model three but it seems to be oxygen starved based on other comments

I have found some small low voltage fans designed for cooling computer boards, processors.

What if one were to put one of those over the exhaust port on top of the unit? (perhaps on top of a several inch tall tube over the exhaust port to allow the smoke to cool a bit as mentioned in the previous post

I am of two opinions:
1) it will create a relative vacuum inside and make the problem worse
2) it will help increased airflow and might be of benefit

Would anyone care to opine/has anyone tried this?

Someone, maybe on this site suggested a ground clamp so I put one on my tube smoker. Not sure if you have a tube or the rectangular box but if not the tube you might try elevating one end slightly and see how it works. Haven't tried mine yet but I can't see how it would not help.

But any opinions on sucking air through the machine appreciated.

I am not sure I can make extra holes in the smoker as others have, although this seemed to help with my issue

The only time I use the tube smoker in mine is when I cold smoke cheese, then sometimes I do put a battery powered fan sitting on top of smoker to creat a small draw. There is a lot more real estate in a 4d. Are you saying on a hot smoke you need supplemental smoke??? If so there are many here who can help you with that solution.

And it was Dave (Lonzinomaker) who posted the idea about the clamp to increase airflow to the tube smoker, but that was for cold smoking too.

My issue is more bark.  I can get the texture and taste fine but would prefer more bark and darker color.  The wood, stick smokers smoke throughout the cooking cycle and it seems to me this might help provide more bark.  Perhaps not but hard to get a simple answer in my reading on this topic.

True, but I had the $14 fan from long ago when I would go watch the grandson's play football. And the batteries still had power.

What temp are you smoking at? Do an advanced search for "bark" and posted by "old sarge". He has a 3D and has a post and pictures of his good bark. Have not heard any complaints about not getting good bark. Bet the group can get you on the "good bark" trail pretty easy.

The jerky drier is basically a well packaged computer fan, I don't believe it is as robust and industrial as it outward appearance is.
