Well its double walled:)

I want to look at one in person, but personally its double what it should be in cost at least!
You are correct that it's double walled, but insulated between that double wall by What??? AIR! While many talk about their ceramic grills, whether it's a BGE, Komado, etc., they are heavy and well insulated. They hold their heat unbelievably well. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't see that air insulation being able to accommodate the same or similar cooking methods of those other cookers. It may have the same shape, but not the same characteristics. As I write this, someone has gone out and purchased one and soon we'll be reading all about it. Weber lovers are all over, and I'm one of them, but sell me something that doesn't give me my money's worth and I become disgruntled. The reviews will be trickling in, just hide and watch:)

+1!

While out and about today, look what I stumbled upon at Ace Hardware!

$1999.99 and she can be yours TODAY!!

Nope, not today. Not tomorrow. Not ever. Not at THAT price. While it does seem solid and well built, it's not as sturdy and solid as my Kegs are not to mention I can buy 2.25 Kegs for that price, lol. I do like it and would be a player at the right price, which I do think for THIS particular model should be less than half of what it is. Realistically I would say $900-$1000 would be doable since it IS pretty huge in comparison to a Large Big Green Egg or Broil King Keg (18" Grates on those, this is a 24" Grate). Ultimately I think that if they were to even drop it down to $1200.00, you'd see them move some merch as that is still cheaper than a BGE in a table (somewhat of an equivalent). For that matter, my very own Keg 5000 alone is $899 but when paired with the Keg Grilling Cabinet (Firecraft sells for $699) you're at $1600.00 add $80.00 for the cover. Wow! It just occurred to me what a smoking deal I got on this stuff, forgive me for getting sidetracked here for a second. I essentially paid $100.00 for the Keg 5000 (won it in a raffle in which I bought $100.00 worth of tix at $5/ea) and because I used to be involved with their forum and had a contact at BK I got the cabinet and a cover with delivery for $270.00. Good googly woogly! If I include taxes paid if bought on Amazon, that saved me $1430.00!! Ok, now I am in shock.

Back to the Weber. I still contend it has nice features. I love the size of it but even so, I have a second tier to cook on, on my Kegs so that gives me 480sq/in versus the Weber's 452sq/in. I guess at this point, it's only saving grace is the gas assisted lighting which just means that you have to also have a propane tank, to me that's cool BUT not needed. We'll see how well it does. I hope somebody I know buys one and gives a real review of it in action. I am sure it performs well.

No way they sell many of these.  Looks neat, sort of large, but the $$$ large price!! Kills it.

I've never seen Webers discounted (much) so the stock they have might last a decade.

ACE hardware, just as expected.................this late fall.

The $2000 one on sale for $1500
The $1500 one on sale for $1000.

What a flopper!

Yeah, I think we all pretty much called this one.

Heck even for that much money, I think I would be getting a #4D or a KEG/BGE or something similar.

I think they were really trying to take advantage of their brand loyalty on this one. Bad move, Weber.

Nailed it! ;)  Weber should have consulted with us!  ;D

Hold out a little longer and that $1500.00 and $1000.00 will drop down further. At that point, they'll sell and who knows if it'll make a return come spring time. I bet it won't, not at that price. I am sure the retailers are stuck with them and at some point will clearance them out.
