power light

I just received my model 2 today and when I turned it on to season it the power indicator light did not work.  Everything else is working fine but I want to fix the light.  From what I've read most of the wire connections are behind the back pannel?  I contacted Steve but I figured I would ask here also.

Oh no!  I've only seen a few of the LED power lights DOA, but it does happen.  No biggie - Steve will most-likely send you a replacement lamp.  Take the back cover off (wear vinyl or nitrile gloves for the insulation), and it's pretty obvious how it goes in.  May be as simple as a disconnected or loose wire, too.  These things travel a long way to get to you!

Hi J Lightning,
I am a total newbie and just received my #2. I just seasoned the thing over the weekend. I noticed that the light was very faint. I had to cup my hands around the light, creating a little "darkroom" so that I could tell that it was indeed on.
Maybe your issue is similar and not actually a defective LED?

Check it out.

The light is very light during the daytime and can barely be seen. Try turning it on at night sometime.

When I modified for my pid controller I pulled the back off and noticed my light bulb was outside of the red case. It has just a couple of snaps on the light that holds it into the plastic enclosure. I'm betting it's easily jostled loose during shipping.

Do I need to unscrew the red enclosure to get to the bulb?  It didn't look like it came apart from the black bottom section of the enclosure either?

I got it!  The one connection on the light bulb itself came loose so I fixed it and it works perfectly!!  Thanks for the help!  Actually it's fairly bright!
