Need ideas to improve the cook (smoke flavor/moisture)

If this was your first smoke after seasoning, it will take another smoke or two to get the "full effect". My first Boston butt was my 3rd smoke in my #3, and I was blown away with the results. I believe that the more the smoker is used, the more seasoned it gets and the better the results.

Just keep using the smoker and it will get better.

I agree.  The smoke keeps building up and just makes things better.
Yesterday we were home and I threw in a block of wood into my smoker with nothing in it and ran it for six hours.  Really did smell good as we were working outside all day.

Mike, total waste of good wood. Should have had a butt in there!

+1.  Except for initial seasoning, I wouldn't be able to stand the smoker smoking with no meat in there!! :o

I know, I know.  I had just received an order of wood and wanted to try a type I have never used.  You know, just to see what it would smell like. 8)
