Need a new propane grill. What's your opinion of the best of the best?

Here is another that fits your budget if you want to think outside of the box!  8)

Yeah that is what I just took delivery of.  Only one cook on it.  It was a solid steak, but the baked potato was incredible.  Top notch quality.  Just need to spend more time with it.

I'll keep my gasser over pellet poopers any day of the week, for dedicated grilling duties.  If I want smoked food, the SI is the champ.  Almost bought a Traeger S&W grill awhile back when my buddy did...dodged that bullet (no pun intended).  His didn't make it 2 years before it had all sorts of problems with feed, heat, you name it.  I like turning on the gas, lighting the burners, cooking, turning it off...DONE! ;)  Anything more involved than that goes straight in the SI!

I am really enjoying my pellet grill.  I would say that it is even easier to use then a gas grill.  I can't set the temp on my gas grill.

The biggest problem I have with pellet grills is that you have to buy pellets and have an electrical source!  Also, not sure how hot they can get. Searing a steak would seam impossible.

Good point on the outlet.  Luckily I had one already since I had an electric smoker, but I didn't have one when I just had the gas grill.  I feel adding pellets is kind of like refilling propane.  Probably have to add pellets much more often than propane though.

Some pellet grills can get over 700 degrees.  Reliability I can't comment on yet, but it seems like some have quite a good track record.

The 735 has been working pretty well for me.  I have an iPhone.  I have heard the app for android has been difficult to pinpoint what phone will work well with it.

Overall the 735 app is pretty cheesy.  I like the igrill app much better, but I always had to fight with the igrill to get it to connect.  Take batteries out, etc...

I'm a maverick fan but not necessarily a Bluetooth fan  I would like to see them come out with a Wi-Fi model then I would jump.
Bluetooth range can be a problem with some devices how is it with your maverick 735?
Lino & Novi,  it would be helpful if you added a first name to your signature so the others here can relate with you better..  8)

Novi,  i'm guessing that you spend most of your time in the Cookshack forum.

I am getting up to about 50' range with the 735.  I can walk most anywhere in my house except for the basement and not lose connection.

I updated my signature.  I am a Cookshack fan, but it seems there are a lot of similarities between my 025 and the SI units.  I am learning a lot here and hopefully am providing a little bit back in return.

It is all good.  It is all smoking. SI provides the best bang for the buck and the best forum. All should feel welcome.

Tony, so true.
Chris, good info on the 735.  Good to hear your pellet is working well.
Ralph, the 025 is roughly the same size as the SI2.  I imagine RSNovi aka Chris will be able to add to the forum since the specs between the SI2 and his smoker are very close.

Yep, I'm very familiar with the 025 and I came very close to buying one. The American made 025 smoker and the PG500 Pellet grill are good choices that Chris made IMO. Value wise the SI2 is hard to beat at a lower cost and Standard Stainless Steel shelves, etc..  8)

Chris: I'm glad that you have joined us and look forward to hearing more about your smokes with the 025 and the Fast Eddy PG500  :)
