This is my first smoker ever.  After doing a good amount of research I landed with SmokinIt 3D, from the reviews and seeing the forum I was thoroughly impressed.

I am super excited because I have always done a ton of grilling but never got into smoking.  I made some ribs for my block party last weekend with them in the over for 2 1/2 hours in the oven then charing them on the grill.  Me and a few buddies started talking about smoking and I just wanted to step my game up.

First smoke will be some ribs from Restaurant Depot......then I eventually want to do some brisket!!

Congrats on your new smoker and welcome from ND!

You have made a wise choice in going with the 3D.

Love the forum handle  ;) , but would be great to have a first name in the signature line, too!  A BIG Congrats on entering the world of smoking the right way!  These smokers can turn anyone into a Pit Master in no time!  You'll love what you can do, especially if you follow along and try to repeat what a lot of us here do.  You'll find what works for you, and what doesn't.  Before long, you'll be hitting aces every time! 8)

Welcome... Guess what Golfer?  You made A HOLE IN ONE with that 3D purchase!

Tony thanks man!!  Funny thing is I have a huge plan for my first brisket making this week.  I already pre planned to use your brine and then throw some Daves famous rub and smoke it for a long time.  Have the guys coming over to test run it and taste everything.  I will have photos!!!

Thanks for all the welcomes!!  I plan on smoking all foods at all my parties I have moving forward.  It is going to be fun!!!

Welcome from Texas Kyle!  I see many new friends in your future as you wow them with your smoking abilities. Enjoy!

Congrats, Kyle!  I, too, am a big fan of the bone-in Boston butt as a first smoke.  Really let's you see how she performs for the long-haul!  And, they're almost impossible to mess up!

Here are the results......only one of the 3 blocks fully burned

Normal, Kyle.  You know, now, the hottest spot on your element is the middle.  Mine's the same way.  I try to avoid being right over that spot, but rather just outside it.

If it's dead center how do u put it to the side of its like a huge brisket, I'm assuming I will always use the top rack also since its furtherest away....
