Does the Integrated PID Digital Temperature Controller offer anything besides preprogrammed temperature changes? $200 seems like a lot of money in relative terms for the convenience of preprogrammed temperature changes. Sure the temperature stays set and doesn't vary but, is that really a big deal?
The integrated PID works the same way as the standalone GPH series Auber units. While it has 8 programmed "recipes" for convenience, it still can be fully-customized. Just like the others, you can program on the fly, to whatever settings you want. If you have a favorite program you use for something, you can save it to one of the recipe slots, if you prefer.
The advantage to having it integrated is 1) it's weatherproof, unlike the standalone, and 2)
it's integrated (no more separate box and cords to hook up and deal with).
