max capacity of model 1

I smoked 6 slabs in my No. 1 this weekend.  Absolutely packed full, about 18-20 total pounds.  Now having done it, I would probably agree that was overloaded.  But worked OK in my book (one rib rack and one regular grill shelf, 2 half slabs on top of the ribs in the rib rack).  I learned that 6 slabs will produce enough grease to fill the bottom grease pan almost brim full.  No spills, but oh so close.     
 
Wow this thread took on a life of its own!  I did the butt for 9 hours at 230 and then wrapped it in foil for two more hours before letting it rest for 90 minutes.  It turned out pretty damn good.

Yeah, you're right about the thread getting a little crazy!  That's what tends to happen when a member starts a thread, and then disappears.  When you start a thread, and ask a question, the best way to keep it "on topic" is to participate in the discussion you created!  Otherwise, you see what happened here! :o
