John, looks awesome bro! I dig the #2 stand as well. If I had my druthers, I'd have a backyard that looks like Steven Raichlen's BBQ U!!

That arsenal he has is mind blowing.

AWESOME!!!!!!!

I love it Greg. What a beautiful pool and patio you have! I can't believe that you sold that BGE though, after 13 years! That was your buddy ;D

Jason,

We moved to Florida from the Midwest over 14 years ago, the one requirement for the house was  pool. Lynn uses the pool a lot, for myself when I am  working in the yard I tend to dip and cool off. With the two of us and only a few neighbors as friends we don't have large parties like we used to, so one smoker and grill work for now.

I understand. I have been tinkering with the idea of selling my home. When that happens, I'll most likely leave the built in stuff and keep the kegs and the Traeger and of course, my new favorite toy, the SI#3!!!

I have even thought of moving into a condo but if I did that, there would be NO smoking or grilling. It's usually prohibited so that's a deal breaker.

Not sure I could do a condo, but we did own a Townhome for 9 years, so no one on top or bottom of your place. We did have a smoker and grill, but each community has it own rules.

Some day we will most likely step down but for now, work play and toys!

I forgot to mention we owned a cabin in Dahlonega Ga  about 8 years ago, we love the mountains but since I travel the drive to Atlanta was a real pain.

Jason - not sure how I missed your update on this, but...wow!  That's a great presentation of your project, and it was certainly worth the effort.  You have a setup that anyone would envy.  Nice job, Sir!

Kudos Jason. That is one awesome set up you have there and I am sufficiently jealous. As previously posted, my wife is not allowed to see that picture :)

My poor old stick burner and fryer sure are lonely now that I have my smokin it

Well, we've got the #2, which sits in the corner of our pocket patio (I'm not even sure it strictly meets the guidelines for a real patio.  But, describing it as a ground-floor balcony might give you an idea of how big we're talking).  And, I'm not sure if it's actually allowed, but the management here seems to be fairly laid back about some things. :)  It helps that there's not a huge amount of smoke that is released to waft about the place. :P

The reason we have the #2, is because we are in an apartment, and our stick burner (a Pitts and Spitts barrel pit, with offset firebox and an upright at the other end) is currently living with friends, as we have no place to put it, let alone use it.  So, we go and visit it occasionally.  The pic below is from the last time we used it, which was last Labor Day. :(  So, we really needed the SI!

Prior to the P&S pit, we had a CharGriller, our first pit, with offset firebox, which my sister got when we moved from California to Texas ... we also had a couple of Weber kettles, an 18" and a 22" ... my sister got the 22", and my son got the 18" - he's also the one that got our original copy of Smoke and Spice.

Nice!! I am of the mindset that once can simply not have enough cooking tools, whether it be grills & smokers or all of the accessories that come along with this hobby we chose. I love all of my toys equally :)
