I'm Back!

I want to thank everyone who checked on me!  I've been missing in action for the last few weeks due to the flu that turned into a bad case of pneumonia, and a few days in the hospital.  During all of this, I also found out I have Type 2 Diabetes and high blood pressure!

So, the last couple of weeks have found me pretty much completely "off the grid" other than bare minimums.  Still recovering from the pneumonia, and adjusting to a whole new lifestyle! 

I really appreciate everyone's concern, and just wanted to let everyone know the "new and improved" version of me is back in action!

Now... I need to focus on BBQ seasonings & sauces for diabetics!  All ideas are welcome!  I may even create a new section for it!
 
Welcome back. Reducing the sugar and carb intake and getting plenty of exercise is a regiment that a friend of mine follows to keep his diabetes in check. He lives on a lake and the hardest thing for him to give up was beer. Good luck!
 
Great to hear your going to be ok. Looking forward to the rubs and sauces for diabetics. Take care of yourself.
 
Oh my!  I'm so glad to hear you're going to be ok!  I was diagnosed as a Type-2 just over twenty years ago...  let me know if you ever need/want to talk.
 
Welcome back and best wishes to you... the diabetic section would be an excellent addition. More folks I know are being diagnosed every month.
 
I absolutely agree with the diabetic section. While I am not one myself, I have been trying to eat low on the glycemic index. You had asked for suggestions- I have been substituting Stevia for sugar when I can.
 
Glad you're back Tony! Although I myself haven't been around much, this place ain't the same w/o YOU! We all wish the best for you :)

Tony, glad to hear you are on the mend.  Amazing how quickly health issues can sneak up on you.  Hope you will still be able to enjoy "Q" with compatible rubs and sauces taking the forefront.  Chicken and fish should be OK but how will this affect beef and pork?
