"Extreme Makeover," Razorback Style! WPS!

I would have loved to see the fully disassembled picture.  Let us know how well the paint sticks.  I've tried painting aluminum and stainless using self etching primer before and still have adhesion issues.  It looks pretty for a smoker.  ;)

Fancy there Tony! Looks great. Even better if it had a big Husker 'N' on it.  ;) I might have to deck mine out with LED's now!

Some of those rgb led strips that you can cut and stick to the bottom would look nice, but I have these in my gun safe for lighting and the stick doesn't last too well.

I have a friend that uses those in his gun safe too (but I think his are white only). I haven't bought any of these strip LED's yet but I've pondered it.

Costco has the led strip lights, but usually sell out quick. Do check it out. It's got their name on it and goes for about $30 bucks. Multiple colors with full remote. I use them in my house. Really nice.

I am new here and have always loved grilling. I recently purchased a 3D with the cart and decided I wanted a good home for it so I cleaned out a corner of my pole barn and went to work. The pictures are the result. I love it and am looking forward to many smoking experiences out in my new corner of the world. These are before and after photos

Outstanding, Jeff!  Great to have you with us!  When you can, head over to the Introductions section and tell us about yourself (that would be a great place for this first post).  Looking forward to seeing you around!

OutfrickenStanding.  New to the smokin it family as of yesterday and a Hog fan from North Central Arkansas.  As soon as I unboxed my smoker, #2, I started thinking how to PIG the thing up.  You, my man, are a fricken inspiration.  I kneel before the great one and now can only mentor and follow in the blazed path of Razorback smoker Nirvana. WPS Go Hogs.

How is the paint holding up?  I've been considering doing something along these lines.

Most of it is OK.  There has been some flaking around the bottom.  The key to this is finding the right primer for stainless, and allowing a long cure time before use.  I'm not satisfied with the self-etching primer.  If I do another one, I plan on doing even more research (not sure how) on priming stainless - it's a booger!

Did a little work on the ol' Model 2.  First order was a good cleaning, and disassembly.  I moved my Auber permanent probe to 1" from the top (been meaning to do this for awhile).  I also added a sub-zero power cord, and kept it about 3' long (just enough to reach the Auber).  While I was in there, I added the 800w element, and routed the probe lead out the bottom hole with the power cord.

The box got a good sanding with 180 grit, wipe with acetone, and a few coats of self-etching primer.  It then received 3 or 4 coats of Dupli-Color Ford red engine enamel.  Topped it off with some great Razorback decals, and I'm in Hog Heaven! ;D  My buddies eying the SI are crazy jealous!  lol!

One thing left to do:  The door logo is stamped very shallow (at least in the middle), so there wasn't much to do with it during painting.  I'm having a die-cut decal made in white, in the exact shape and size as the logo, to go over it.  I'll update pics when that happens.

WOO PIG SOOIE!!!! GO HOGS!!!  Loving that smoker, I'm from Fayetteville.

I sometimes wonder about the people who have disappeared from forums. Like DivotMaker here, or Pork Belly, who has offered so much great info here.
