Now I'll admit, I was a sucker and got a Roadie small cooler and use it a lot.  <gift> but still........

I saw these Hoppers in person today at the hardware store, nice but geeeez the price for a bag!

Forget that Yeti link, John, you hit the gold with that rtic link!  Now that's a cooler I would own!  The technology is the same, so I've just been waiting for someone to capitalize on Yeti's design for half the price!  No reason a plastic, foam-filled box should be $400!

I posted about the rtic in one of the other cooler threads.  I got in on the preorder early and hopefully will get mine in October.  They are currently being sued by Yeti.  I am not sure I would order right now til you see them actually shipping.  Kinda nervous if I should cancel mine and get my money back.

I also have heard nothing but bad things about the soft Yeti coolers, stick to the rotomold ones.

I also have been looking at the Yeti Hopper, but the price has put me off.

I have since purchased two soft sided coolers for traveling.

The first is a AO Coolers Vinyl Fishing Soft Cooler, 12-Pack. Guaranteed to hold ice for 24 hours in 120 degree weather; 12-can capacity. They also make a 24 and 48 can. I use this when I fly and want to bring anything cold back home.

My other cooler I purchase is a Columbia 50 Can PFG Perfect Cast Ultimate Thermal Cooler Tote. This baby is huge and is great and will retain ice for over 2 and a half days.

Both of these cooler are less than $100.00 and work great. On the downside they do not have a waterproof seal, so they will leak if turned upside down and have water in them.

Also the Yeti has thicker insulation than the Columbia.

Rtic said that they would start shipping this month and then by the end of November or early December have stock on hand.

I am think I will wait till next month, I don't like folks holding my money

But one of my good friends has ordered his, I will check and see if they have given him a date yet.

Yeah, they are just shipping preorders right now.  They sent out an email to everyone that preordered today that they have started shipping.  Said you should receive an email a week before they ship yours.

Igloo makes yeti knock offs for half the price that are sold at SAMS. I have both & the are identical.

You guys ought to take a look at Bison coolers.  They are actually made in the USA and cheaper than the Yetis.

I have a yeti and Bison.

When did you place the order? Mine was in mid August and i see "Your order has been processed however your items are on back order. We expect your order to ship on or before 12/06/2015." I guess will be my Christmas present

I received my RTIC 45qt right before Christmas. I had also ordered in Aug (if I remember right). Very nice quality. For the price, I may have to get the 65 qt!  They should be caught up by Feb and be able to offer 2 day shipping and orders shipped within a day or so of ordering. Never heard they were in a lawsuit.
