I keep mine in plastic totes that I installed small vents in to allow air circulation. I have never had any problems with mold or the wood drying out to much with this set up. The totes are stacked out of the way in the garage.
Some of my wood stays in the box it came in while other wood is stored in old civil defense metal water cans. I store lump mesquite charcoal in these cans as well.

Since I have a pool, I just use my empty chlor tab buckets. I line with trash bag to be on the safe side even though I clean the bucket. I just put the lids on loose so they breath
