Turning 40 & starting a new habit...smoking!

I turn 40 this Saturday and decided to take up a new habit...smoking.  I've been researching Smokin-it smokers for little over a year now and he read numerous reviews and have heard nothing but get things about Smokin-it smokers.  With that said my #1 just arrived today and I'm not sure who's more excited me or my 14 year old son.  I will say he was bummed that I wasn't able to smoke in it right away.  I will also say that it is a little bit of a tease to have the house start to smell like hickory from the seasoning going on outside on our patio.  Here's to hoping I can get my first ribs and wings done this weekend to celebrate the big 40!

Wish me luck!

A great big "Howdy," Adam!  I started out with a #1.  It's a great smoker!  Your family will love the great Q you give them out of it!!

Let us know how we can help!  What are you planning for your first smoke?

Welcome from Texas Adam! You'll love your new buddy. I use mine alot more than I thought I would. Enjoy!

Hey everyone, Im planning on smoking some wings tomorrow and I am wondering what type of rub I should use.  Also, should I apply the rub and let sit over night similar to ribs?

Thanks everyone.

Adam

Welcome Adam to the SI community, I guarantee you'll love it! I'm in the Marion, IA area and have had an SI #2 for just over a year now. It's been life changing and very fun for me. Now that spring is here I can't wait to get things really fired up. What area you in?

Welcome to the world of smoking. It's a learning process that you can enjoy and even when you screw up, you can usually still eat your mistakes:) Happy Smoking and Birthday too!
