Grabbed a Butterball turkey breast this morning.
Here are the players

Here she is after injecting it with Cajun Injectors lemon-butter-garlic and rubbed with Penzey's Bicentennial Rub

Into the #3 with one chunk of Alder for smoke at the 250 heat setting

Stay tuned.........

Simple and elegant process ... I may have to pick up some alder wood.  Did you work the rub under the skin as well?

And I assume (demand?) that you'll be posting the resolution of this little shindig?  :D

Yes sir, will post finished pics. I shot it up pretty heavy and just rubbed the outside......

After -5- hours, I pulled the breast when it hit 165 internal. I turned the smoker down to 140 and wrapped the turkey and held it for a bit

Time to grub. Thanksgiving in July...outrageous.....

That's a gorgeous color on the turkey ... I think I need some alder to experiment with some Cornish game hens.  Enjoy your dinner, Smoke!

I also use alder pellets in my pellet grill when doing poulty...gives off a nice lite smoke profile.

Smoke
That looks awesome, needs to try turkey very soon. How long did you wait after injection to put in the smoker?
Did you inject about an inch apart or so?

With the Cajun Injector Marinades, you can inject right before going on the grill and smoker. I figure I went about an inch apart. I used the same needle hole to move the needle in different injections to keep the puntures at a minimum.........
