Thermoworks Tw8060 - kit?

I am thinking about purchasing the TW8060 but don't know if the high temp kit is worth it over the basic kit.  I think the difference is $30 so not too bad.  Anyone have any experience with any of these kits?

I have had one for a few years.  It is reliable & industrial.  However, since purchasing the Auber it doesn't get used enough to justify.  The Auber only costs a tiny bit more.  I used my SI2 for a year without the Auber so I'm not saying its a must but if your going to spend that much you might as well get the Auber.

The TW8060 will soon be discontinued.
Here's the replacement model, which looks like a much better thermometer....I haven't been happy with the TW8060.

The short battery life is one of the things I hate about the TW8060....

I have the high heat kit. Works great, i only use for the temp of the meat.  If you are getting an auber i would suggest a high heat chef alarm $100 less. From same company.

These look like really solid units. But, I really think I would miss being able to monitor the temps remotely.

When is that Lazy Q Code of Conduct going to be voted upon anyway? I think we have some slackers lurking around here.

+1!  That's funny, right there, Arnie!  I don't care who you are!  ;D ;D ;D ;D I wouldn't call them "slackers" as much as "over-achievers!"  Hehe.
