Strangest smoke you've done?

Intrigue me. What is the most unique meat you've smoked?  the most unusual wood?  strangest rub?  weirdest combo or recipe?  that turned out good.  I want to push the envelope, but i need a great idea.

This is as far from a typical smoke that I have done so far.

Lobster & goat were my 2 most exotic smokes as of yet.  Will definately do lobster as a regular smoke in the future.  The goat was good but not great.

I read about a guy cold smoking kosher salt for shaking on food.  I still want to try that.

I know folks that smoke coarse sea salt, but haven't talked to anybody about kosher salt.  I would thing it would do well, also!  The guy I know smokes sea salt at 200 - no need to cold smoke (it won't melt).  He puts it in a coffee filter.  I haven't tried it yet, but would like to!

Must be one heck of fine screen to support kosher salt!  Wow.  Wonder where he got it, and what it looks like; might be a worthwhile investment!

Look under the fish section.  I have a fully documented lobster smoke.  I have done them 3 times & it will definitely be done a few times yearly @ my house.

Most people think of meat when they hear, "smoked".  This year, for me, has been a lot of venturing into side dishes.  I'm going to do a smoked mashed potato casserole with onions, bacon and cheese for a Christmas party this week.

Something I never would have normally done- my grocery store had Italian turkey sausage links, the size of large hot dogs, that were marked down from $4.99 to .99 because they expired that day. I smoked them in apple and they were great.

You cant beat the deals at the store if you are there at right time. I've done this 3 or 4 times and they turn out much different than on a grill.  Better.
