Sous Vide Wagyu Steak - From Walmart

Ingredients:
1 10-14 oz. American Wagyu Ribeye (Walmart)
Salt (Maldon Sea Salt Flakes)
Ground Pepper

Directions:
Pre-heat a water bath to 140 degrees.

Season the steak with salt and pepper and place in a vacuum bag and seal.

Sous Vide for 2.5 hours, remove from the water bath.

20 minutes before the cook is done, fire up the grill and heat to 550-600 degrees.

Once cook time is finished remove steak bag and pat dry.

Lightly salt one side of the steak and grill for about 2 minutes per side (I also like to use a torch to speed up the searing process).

*Note, Wow great taste and fork very tender.

My new go to steak!

Looks really good.  Nice job.  But I still cannot convince myself to try sous vide. Maybe someday.

This is what most of the best restaurants do, heck even Wahlburgers uses a cavp to reduce their cook time in half and to provide a consistent result. They make all their thick burgers to 130 degrees and when you order, finish it to the desired temp you want, medium well etc.

Sous Vide is super easy and very forgiving and the results are really good. You can also pre-cook steaks or burgers for a party and then finish them the way your guests like it.

Also the one thing that I also use mine for is re-heating meats like brisket, chicken, it will not dry them out and they taste like you just made them.

That being said it really use another tool!

It is my dream to try a Wagyu steak sometime, but I haven't splurged on one yet.

Your pics look awesome!

Greg has me sold on the Sous Vide for steak, but I just haven't tried it yet.

How was the quality of Wagyu from Wal Mart?

I think it was better than the prime steaks I have been buying at Costco. Really great flavor and super tender!

i have noticed that the costco prime has the correct marbling, but really no flavor.  why did you pick 140F?  do you like steak medium, or does it work better for sous vide at that temp?
