Smokin Salt & Pepper?

Have any of you smoked salt and pepper?  I've got an idea how to proceed, but am looking for additional ideas.  Got any??

But, looks like you can smoke salt or pepper, look in the cold smoke section for more info.
 
I've cold smoked both by setting them on a mesh screen.  I remember reading somewhere that you can hot smoke salt and get better results, I'll see if I can dig it up.
 
Lots of folks just put the salt or pepper in a coffee filter...it lets the smoke through, and is a heckuva lot easier than building a special screen. 
 
Yeah, I just used a stainless steel splatter screen I picked up pretty cheap.  I attached the link since he did both cold and hot smoking at different time intervals.
