But, looks like you can smoke salt or pepper, look in the cold smoke section for more info.
I've cold smoked both by setting them on a mesh screen. I remember reading somewhere that you can hot smoke salt and get better results, I'll see if I can dig it up.
Yeah, I just used a stainless steel splatter screen I picked up pretty cheap. I attached the link since he did both cold and hot smoking at different time intervals.
