Seasoning temperature for #5D Wi-Fi

Since the 5D goes to 325f, should we use that temp to season it. Would soaking the wood chunks help them last the 4 hours and not catch fire, burn up before the seasoning time is done.
The 2014 post on seasoning said use 250f, but maybe that was as high as they could go back then?
My #5D should show up in the next week. Just trying to get prepared to get started right away. Also, my wife said don’t look under the Christmas tree this year and she gets to use it for the Thanksgiving Turkey.

The seasoning process helps with burning off any manufacturing residue as well as giving the smoker a nice smell and patina. I would just go with the wood that comes with the smoker and soaking is up to you.  If you place some of the wood in the tray BETWEEN the elements in lieu of over the elements, you might get the wood to last longer and produce smoke longer. Just an idea.

It shouldn't hurt the smoker but I am not sure what the higher temp would accomplish from a seasoning standpoint.  Keep in mind that the smoker will be empty with nothing to absorb the heat.  Thus a lower seasoning temp  Let us know how it turns out if you go the higher route. You can always check with Steve for the final word.
