A local farmer whom I've have been selling tools for gave me this mixed bag of goodies.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd like to try on smoker so any suggestions welcomed.

Watermelon and black radishes are some he mentioned?  Some of these creatures I've never seen, but willing to give a try.

Maybe they need higher temp grill? or oven to cook.

Up for the test!

Looks like you have a butternut squash (the big one), and black radish (the black one), watermelon radish (the one with a greenish tint on the top, really pretty sliced), and I think the ones that look like white carrots are parsnips. And some sort of white radish (the round white ones in the back). The butternut squash and parsnips are normally eaten cooked. So these two might work for smoking somehow, although you'd probably be blazing our own trail there. The radishes would be eaten raw for the most part, but I think you can fry them like chips sometimes. You can google for recipes, and ideas of how to prepare them.

The watermelon radish were great sliced up, salt and pepper.

Soup pictured was parsnips, carrots, onion, ginger, curry, garlic.

Sauteed and Vitamixed!  Not bad for roots.

I know it looks like toothless babyfood, but it was good and had a kick.

Reminds me of one of my favorite soups, which is a carrot ginger soup. It also has some curry and coconut milk. Slightly spicy Thai-style soup.
