I do 140 for roughly 45 minutes. I usually get through two heat cycles and try to increase the temp at the start of a heat cycle when the element turns on again. Don't have to worry about foiling wood and haven't noticed a belch since using this method.
I also leave my chip screen in all the time. I wish there were more #4 users here to compare issues with. Having different elements in every unit makes drawing similarities between models difficult some times.
Hey Dave, I think you are the only #4 user that I see on here very much. I leave the chip holder in my #1 but do not have one for the #3. And have not notice any belches in the #3. As for the #1 am not worried about it doing anything like that.
