Quick brisket question

I have two ~8.5 lbs briskets that will both fit tightly on one shelf of my #2. I have not previously tried smoking multiple pieces of meat simultaneously and if any of you have, I was hoping for a little insight. Should I treat the briskets as two individuals or as one large chunk in terms of planning my time. Thanks in advance

I would not crowd.  I would use 2 racks.  They will cook pretty closely to the same.  Monitor the bottom rack if you only have one monitor.

2 shelves, and they'll cook more like one 8.5 pounder.  Don't crowd them together - they need room for the heat and smoke to get around all sides.
