Question on stand height

I am picking up a 3D in a couple weeks, and I am getting a place ready for it on my deck. I am building a short table top for it to set on. I want to get it off the ground so it is easier to load and unload, but I don't know how high I can make the table and still see the PID. Do you need to be looking down on the PID to see it, or can you be looking at it horizontally?

The PID face is angled at 45 degrees. It is not a large control. I will post measurements tonite unless someone east of Arizona beats me to it.

The SI cart, for the #2 has the unit sitting 21" off the floor.  This is a good height for the #3 also.  Much taller, and it's hard to see the controller.  Congrats!

As promised:  the face is 7 inches across and angled. 1 inch high front; 2 1/4 inch back. The shot of the front is with the lens resting on the smoker, to give an idea of eye level view.  Hope this helps. Also not sure if the face is angled 45 degrees.

The top of my #4 is about chest level and feels perfect to me for loading and unloading.  Knowing the dimensions of your smoker, I'd work backwards to something similar for your set up.

That's where a 21" height puts it, for the 2 & 3.
