Pulled pork seasoning

Have you ever tried adding a little seasoning to the pork after you pull it? A friend of mine just recently gave me some seasoning they mixed up and you sprinkle it on the pork after you pull it. It was really good, it really wakes up the flavor of the meat that isn't close to the bark. They wouldn't tell me what was in it but your favorite rub would be a good place to start.

Mike, I find the brined butt, when pulled, is the right flavor - at least for me.  When the inside meat is combined with the flavorful bark, it's like pork candy.  lol!  Seriously, I haven't tried any seasoning after pulling (except BBQ sauce, on the individual servings - not on the bulk), but will give it a try!

I used kosher salt one last one. I was out of Dust. I tend not to sauce the bulk of the pulled meat because we use it for different things.

I have to try adding some spice after pulling. I put sauce on the side because i have typically three sauces, mild bbq, hot bbq, and a piedmont.

I don't ever sauce bulk pulled pork either.

We just serve it as is with a variety of sauces that each person can add based on their preference.

I have done this based on a restaurant owner tip.

If you pull a ton and are keeping it warm a light seasoning doesn't hurt.

But if you're eating it fresh.... Tony is spot on to enjoy the candy.

I only sauce whats on the bun, I like a little Bone Sucking Sauce on my sandwich. The problem I have encountered when pulling is not much of the outside bark gets mixed in with the inside meat cause we are standing over it picking it out like vultures lol.

Ha!  My problem, too!  The bark is truly the "candy!" ;D
