Pulled beef?

Hello,
I'd like to make some pulled beef for sandwiches (similar to pulled pork) on my 3D. I'm wondering if anyone's ever done this and what cut I should use? I'm thinking that one could either use brisket or a chuck roast and pull it but I've never done pulled beef with either so I'm wondering if anyone has, and how the results were. Thanks!

I have used chuck roast to make chili.  I actually smoked the chuck roast first and refrigerated overnight, and then the next day I cut it into cubes and put that into the crock pot with the chili fixings.    When the chili was done, I had some really good tasting shredded smoked beef chili!

I think you could easily smoke the chuck roast and then shred it immediately for pulled beef sandwiches.    The same might work with brisket, although I have not tried that.

I would go with chuck or brisket. Cooked to an IT of 195/200, either should shred fairly easy.

Chuck roast is excellent and smaller to allow you to get your technique down. Like others have said, take it to 190 or so, wrap and rest a bit, then pull it. I love pulled beef, served with some onions and peppers (pit beef style).

Brisket would be good as well, just a bit more expensive then chuck.

Enjoy which ever way you go! You are in for a great dish!

Thanks! I was going to try chuck first but it's actually more expensive than brisket at our grocery store, per Lb anyway. Of course brisket is more expensive if you mess up a whole one.
