Hello!
I have been smoking meat for over 40 years, first on a 10'x5' brick stick burner built in the early 40'. Now living in the Chicagoland area and not having access to easy lumber like I had back in Oklahoma, I bought a SmokinTex 1300 in 2001 rather than the Cookshack due to similarity and lower cost. While I have loved the SmokinTex, the smaller size has been prompting me to look for a larger smoker. I have been looking at all smokers on the market, wood, charcoal, pellet, gas, electric... I have to have an insulated smoker as I grill and smoke year round. I just stumbled onto the Smokin-It site and am very impressed and Steve, you can count on a visit with me.
I love the size of the #4D and think it will solve the limits I have with my SmokinTex. Plus I am looking forward to better customer service. (Long story that I will not go into now)
