How is this for a thread!!

There is a 3D and a 2 in my garage, unopened. 3D for me, 2 for my dad. I also have a 2 pack of spare ribs in the fridge for my first smoke and 2 Snake River Farms American Wagyu briskets in the freezer that arrived today.....

At least tomorrow the 3D will be opened, Sunday it will be seasoned and Monday is Rib day!!!!!

How in the world have I waited for 2 weeks, starring at a 3D box, waiting to be used!!

Pictures to come.....Monday :)

No way I could have done that... I took off from work early when mine came in.  :)

I didn't have a choice - birthday present - had to wait to open it. We are currently seasoning as I type.....

Ribs are rubbed and getting happy. In the past, I've always done a Carolina style rib that turns out great. But, I went as simple as simple gets. Canola oil and SnP. This is the only way I make steak, so why not spare ribs!

I guess I'm curious as to how many others mop during the cook. Need to read more and see what I can find on that. But, for now I want to see how well the 3D works.

Jeremy, no need for mops in the SI. It is a tight box. Just add a water pan and at about the 4 hour mark add bbq sauce if that is your bent. Happy smoking!

and we are moving through the process. halfway there, pulled to sauce and foil.

Try the "no peeky" method sometime, Jeremy.  Just a water pan, good rubbed ribs, and time!  It'll change your life!  (Add sauce the last hour, if you like sticky ribs).  Then, save the foil for the bottom of your smoker! ;)

I will do that soon. Just had a hard time letting go! hahah - here's the finished product - first smoke - pork spare ribs. Very good, very tender - pulled right off the bone (for some is too tender). Smoke flavor was good and the vinegar sauce I made was great! Now - to find the next smoke!
