New Charcoal Options

I deleted and moved this from another link, so here goes.

I'll preface by an opine, I'm sure they cook well, but an egg or keg is not on my list.  Replacing a gasket (felt?) and the small clean-out door on bottom turn me off.  Pellet poopers are not on my list either or anything that says Char Broil on the front.

For $45 the charcoal grill I have works well and I'd recommend it to anyone, make sure you get the big one!  I'll probably keep it and keep using it vs the below.  But everyone has a wish list!

I'm between these three.  Only one of which I can touch and see in person.  No dealers close to me for the others.  Meadow Creek is just down the road from me and I can see all of them in person.

Or the wish list.  Wish they had more pictures. And I bet shipping is a small fortune.

If I am missing a kick nice arse charcoal send links,  the 22 inch weber and old smokey I have are nice, but once you cook for more than 5 people and try to do direct vs indirect a 22 inch grate doesn't go very far.

Here are two other options that you may have already considered and eliminated, but just in case:

Thanks, interesting, I forgot that weber made that beast!  Don't think I have ever seen one on person.

I like them all, I say get one of each ;)

It really depends on what you want to do. If you want to use it primarily as a charcoal grill then I honestly don't see the need to spend big bucks when a Weber is all that you'd need. As for a Kamado - Egg, Keg, Kamado Joe, Primo, whatever.......they absolutely sip fuel and give you the most bang for the buck as far as fuel economy and versatility. The gasket thing is a non issue to me, they do wear out but are simple and cheap to replace. Pellet grills are excellent but don't expect it to cook like a charcoal grill. They're great for low to moderate heat, not searing a steak though. Pellets are not that cheap either when compared to Lump Charcoal they're absurdly priced. I use my Traeger a fair amount but for ribs. wings, ABTs and chicken. The Keg does the heavy lifting at my house as it can do the most stuff.

Those Hasty Bakes are nice but a little pricey. The Yoder is a beast, very respected brand and you'll even see them being used in BBQ Comps! If you're not that worried about a smoker and simply want a charcoal grill then I'd recommend getting a Santa Maria style grill. That's on my wish list!!
