Miss me?

Haven't been around much for the last couple years. Things get busy and I get lured in a variety of directions. I have too many interests... I've noticed a few recent posts from some returning old-timers with similar stories. Still using and loving my #1 analog, a collector's model at this point. Came on the forum to investigate different techniques for smoking salt, along with researching opinions on Amazen tube smokers. Figured this is the best place... Working on getting caught up on posts and meeting new members. :)

Add me to the list. Now if we can just get Tony to come back :)
I've Pmd him several times in the past all to no avail.  But give it a shot; who knows?

Good to hear from you!

To many interests? In these days, I’m sure that’s what helps keep us sane!

I’ll be interested to hear about the Amazen tube if you pick one up. I’ve thought about this as well for some of the smokes with sausage and salmon.

I ended up buying the Amazen Expandable Oval Tube smoker, adjustable from 7 to 12 inches. I also bought an aquarium pump and some tubing. Since I have a #1, I'm hoping that will help with airflow to keep the pellets lit. If that doesn't work, I'll just do my cold-smoking in my Weber kettle grill. Now I have to decide which pellets to buy. Any advice on what brand of pellets work best with the tube smokers welcome! Mostly I'll be cold-smoking salmon. I already have the cold-smoke plate, and that has worked pretty well with a pan of ice. But I thought I'd try out the Tube smoker, which would also allow me some flexibility in being able to cold smoke in my grill.
