July 4th meals

I thought it would be nice to see what ya'll cooked for the holiday. Uncommon for me, we did not smoke anything. All seafood this time. This will be the last crawfish boil for the season (the shells get harder and more difficult to peel as the summer progresses). We also enjoyed some fried catfish. Included in the boil was brussel sprouts, corn, tiny potatoes & garlic. This was followed up with home churned vanilla ice cream. Beautiful weather & good company.

Smoked my first brisket. It turned out really well. I also smoked some peaches and them some whip cream. Waiting for the cream to cool before whipping and serving on grilled pound cake. First time with smoking dessert type foods so we'll see how it tastes.

We went to a bbq at friends house, burgers, dogs, margaritas and beer.  I brought along a thirty pack of wings to share. ;D

I was lazy and just did burgers ( with a blue cheese crust) on the grill. The burgers were good but it's not the same as smoking a brisket, butt or ribs for a celebration. I hope everyone had a wonderful Independence Day with family and friends.

We feasted on Baby Backs, E Beans, and Corn on the Cob. Ribs will get round two tonight.
No pictures this time, my Bad!

Smoked whipped cream. I believe you are the first person to mention it. What a novel idea!
