Jerky dryer

Wondering if the jerky dryer is needed if using the smokin it 3.5 digital Wi-Fi with the built in convection fan ?

I would check with Steve. But it might be. The jerky is designed to draw moisture out which is quite different than the convection fan stirring the heat around.
