I mentioned in the ss cleaner post about a late forum member we had that had his own spice company. His name was Phil and he was a great member over on the other forum. His Instant Gourmet line up was a big hit with us. His Awake-A-Steak is an awesome coffee based Cowboy Rub.......but Phil's claim to fame was his Original. He had developed it in the 70's and the recipe is the same today. His rubs are low in sodium. Whenever someone got on a no salt kick, Phil would explain that good rubs do need a certain amount of salt...just not the cheap filler amounts used in most commercially prepared rubs these days.
