Some folks have used theirs in a garage with the door open and the smoker at the entrance. There have been one or two who set up an indoor smoking section in their garage with a hood vent over it t exhaust the smoke out doors. Caution and common sense rule here.
In bad weather, I have placed the smoker just inside the garage with the door up. I also have a floor fan that I place in the middle of the garage to keep the smoke blowing out of the door. Works fine.

There was a post a couple years ago about this. The guy put the SI in the garage and mounted an older kitchen exhaust fan right above it. The smoker was on a cart. His plan was to roll it out during good weather.
