I recently purchased the #3 and dip 1500. I have used it 2 times. The first time with a pork butt without using the dip. I used my Maverick to check meat and smoker temps. I ran it at 250 but the Mav never got higher than 237. Switching to my other Mav gave the same results but I figured the dip would keep it on temp. I am attempting another smoke of pork butt. I set things up this morning at 5 a.m. With a 10 lb butt. I left for work and had my wife send up dates. The dip is set for 225. It never got over 216 on its gauge and both Mavericks had it at 200-2. I came home at 5 pm and the meat was at 174 after 12 hours. I reset the dip to 250 and it is reading 223, Mav has it at 208. I have disconnected the dip but left it running and plugged the smoker straight into the wall socket. The smoker is set for 250. Readings are 208 on the Mav and 221 on the Auber dip. Meat is IT of 180. Why won't the smoker go up to 250?  Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

1) Without doing a bypass of the SI controller, you have interference between the 2 controllers.
2) The stock SI controller has a calibration function that allows you to dial in the accuracy of the stock controller

Joe,

If you have a PID controller, one of the best things you can do is cut the "middle man" (i.e., the stock controller) out of the loop.  The bypass is very easy, and just takes a few minutes.  You are likely being limited by the stock controller.  Also, did you autotune your Auber, and are you using the drop-in box temp probe, or the wall mount?  If you haven't tuned your Auber, you are running settings for the Bradley smoker, and it will not perform like it should.

Here's the bypass instructions:

Thanks for the by pass info. I will look into it. Yes I tuned it per directions and I have the wall mounted probe.

It has to be the stock controller then, Joe.  Let us know if removing it from the equation works...bet it will.
