Howdy from Northern IN!

Picked up a 3D from Steve's warehouse yesterday...perk of living little over an hour from him :-)
It's seasoning now in my garage ... video of my initial experiment to attempt exhausting the smoke out the old garage wood stove flue :-) https://www.facebook.com/jason.powell/videos/10154065961161354/?l=7251278791283919652
This is my first ever smoker ... and I rarely grill either ... so I'm in a whole new world :-)

Welcome from ND Jason! You are going to love your #3D.

For your venting situation, I wonder if you could get a piece of single wall stove pipe with a 45 degree elbow and a duct fan to blow the smoke out of your exhaust hole. You'd have to come up with some rigging to hold it in place, but that shouldn't be too hard.

Or if you really want to get fancy, you could rig up a stove exhaust hood like one of our members did which is documented in this thread:

Welcome Jason, you will love your new smoker. I watched your video then clicked on your Facebook page. I see you checked in at stray Dog.

While I have enjoyed a few meals there myself I invite you to try some of what were smoking down at New Buffalo Bills. I'm the Pitmaster, I generally work from 6-2:30, say hi if you stop in.

Welcome from Texas Jason! You have good taste in smokers and believe me what comes out of these smokers tastes good too!👍

Oh, that's sweet too! I really wouldn't even need a fan as the natural draw from the chimney would take care of mine if fully pipped.  Of course I've been pondering a good hood anyways so I can do some welding in the garage :-)

Small world! I saw your place on Yelp last night, but the fam voted no BBQ. I'll def have to swing up for some Q sometime and say howdy.

Welcome from Delaware, Jason.  I predict you will be a smoking every week with that 3D because it is just that easy!  Enjoy!

Posted results of the wood chunks after seasoning here if anyone wants to chime in on anything I should do/change before the 1st actual smoke http://smokinitforums.com/index.php?topic=4895.0

Welcome, Jason!  Congrats on the 3D - you, and those who enjoy your Q, are going to love the world of Lazy Q!  Glad you got to pick up your smoker from Steve...great guy!  Welcome aboard! 8)

Very moist and tender except nearest the bone.
Very tasty!
