No, not THOSE kind of probes - I'm talking temp probes. I'm planning on smoking 4 butts at once this coming week (for my baby girl's first birthday party), and I wanted to put a temp probe in each of them...or at least 3. I was going to load up 2 butts per rack on 2 racks (the larger 2 on the bottom rack, smaller 2 on top rack), and use the SI3D temp probe in one of the butts on top and the 2 Maverick temp probes in the 2 butts on the bottom - then set my "recipe" based upon the temp of one of the butts on top (and pull out the 2 on the bottom when they reach the desired temp, assuming they get done first - and then transfer one of the probes to the remaining butt on top).
So my question is: the exhaust hole on the top of the SI3D is somewhat small - is putting all 3 temp probes going to block too much of it for proper ventilation/air circulation to still allow enough oxygen for the wood to smoke? Or do you think it would do just fine? Anyone ever had 3 temp probes going into the exhaust hole?
All this talk about probes, butts, and holes...I'm feeling kinda dirty.
