Has anyone tried this with pork tenderloin??

Looking for opinions on a thought that popped into my head today.... Can I smoke a tenderloin in a pan with sauerkraut?? I am smoking a 9lb tenderloin for New Years. I am going to cut it into 3 smaller pieces about 3lbs each and wanted to try this on one. What do you guys think?!
 
Smoked sauerkraut, now that is new to me. If you give this a go, let us know how it turns out.
 
Its something that just happened to pop into my head today. I wouls think the juice alone from the sauerkraut would only help with keeping the moistness of the meat up, while also adding some flavor! The kraut would probably cook on like a crust to the pork?
