Has anyone smoked a Turkey?

Thinking of smoking a turkey for thanksgiving...any pointers?

Also, I have a #2 smoker, was wondering what the cleaning maintenance entails, if any?

I have a #2 and smoked a 13lb turkey a few months ago.  I brined it the day before, rub it for an overnight rest in the fridge, and if I recall correctly, it took about 4.5 hours to reach 170IT.  More recently, I did a 7lb turkey breast after brining for about 4 hours and rub the night before.  The turkey breast also took about 4.5 hours to reach 165IT, and then I double foil wrapped and put in a cooler for an hour or so to rest.

So my plan to T-Day is a full turkey with stuffing in the oven, and a turkey breast on the smoker.  I will have the breast done in time to rest in a double foil wrap before dinner.

I have as well. Turkey breast to 165. See the chicken and other poultry section.

Word of cautious don't over brine. About 1/hour per pound.

Did a 12 pound bird for Thanksgiving.  Brined 12 hours and rubbed for deliciousness.  Took about 4.5 hours at 250F.  Came out juicy and had such good smokey flavor.  Used 1/2 Cherry and 1/2 Apple wood.

So far I have done Brisket (Mmmmmmmmm) Chicken (so easy and yummy) Turkey (was DA BOMB) and ABT's (always a staple).  Now that I have this all dialed in I will be posting pics of the smokes I do in the future.  :o)

Also just received and put together the Smokin-It #2 cart and cover.  Man that just makes an already great smoker AWESOME.  Thanks Stu!!!
