Well... I had a problem today. My PID control stopped in the middle of the smoke. Luckily, I caught it within 30 mins and flipped back to analog control to finish out the smoke.
Took it apart tonight. Found out I shouldn't have the SSR near the heating element. Things heated up and melted the SSR and some of the control wires. I moved the SSR outside and underneath the smoker now. This should take care of the heat issue and saved me from having to re-wire.
Chicken turned out good when I switched back to stock controller from the PID controller (sure glad I put the bypass switch in as it saved my smoke this time).
