Turkey went in the smoker around 6:20 this morning without a hitch 8)

Lots to be thankful for but I am greatful :) for the friends on this forum and all the guidance they've provided.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I'd like to thank Steve, Tony, and the whole forum for making this a great place to hang.  Everybody has such a great attitude and are so forthcoming with their experiences and suggestions.

Now if my turkey roast comes out OK and the Steelers win it'll be a good day.

Happy Thanksgiving everybody! I bet that turkey is the best ever Dave!

Maybe so Dale?  Best smoked turkey Ive done and just brined it overnight, rinsed well and dried it then brushed a little olive oil and sprinkled down with Jeff Phillips rub.  Planned to get some poultry rub but ran out of time and said what the hey.  3oz cherry wood in the #2 for about 5 hours and carved up nice and juicy.  Flavorful but not overpowering.

Hope you had a Happy one and how bout them Cowboys!

+1Coach.  Hope the turkey roast came out OK and good luck with the Steelers

That's a great looking bird Dave! I would have wanted to just snatch one of those legs off and went after it immediately! Never mind carving it up. The 'Skins gave us all they had and we still found a way to win so on we go.

Happy late Thanksgiving to you, too, Dave!  The bird looks great!  Mine's going in tomorrow - had to work yesterday.  Got him in the brine tonight! :D
