FNG from Chicagoland

Welcome from Delaware, Zach!  Great choices for the #2 (I love mine!) and BBs for the first smoke...can't go wrong!    Let us know how you make out, and better yet...include some pics!    ;D

Welcome Zach from Saint Augustine Florida.

I used to live in the Quad Cities and have made many trips to Chicago!

I have a #2 also and you will be pleased with the results!

Greg

Welcome from Texas Zach! Be sure to let us know how your first smoke turns out. Pork butts are a great choice for your first smoke.

Pork butts are a great way to season your smoker. That's what I did in January for my first smoke. You'll enjoy how easy it is to use this smoker all winter long.

Welcome from Mississippi.  Agree you made a great choice with the #2 and a quick word to the wise.  Buy some good wood to go along with what came with the smoker...I was wondering what had happened to the smoky flavor that I loved and discovered that it was the wood I was using...old and dried out.

Hey Greg it is a military term, normally used on either boots or personnel joining a new post or ship. I think was started during Viet-Nam era but could be wrong on this point.
