Have any of you guys ever entered one? I am thinking about entering one later this year in October. I've come up with a killer recipe for Brisket Chili that I think I could do damage with. Every time I make it I think about entering it into a comp, lol. I do know that it could be potentially devastating to my ego and I might finish dead last in voting but I think it would be something cool to try. Locally they have "The Great Miller Lite Chili Cookoff" either at Stone Mountain or at the Olympic Horse Park in Conyers (right in my neck of the woods) every year and I have tasted winning Chili there and I think I could compete. I make 2 chilis, one is a traditional recipe that I make fairly often and then the Brisket Chili that I haven't made (until this past Monday) in over a year. I always wonder to myself why I don't make it more often as it's freakin' awesome! LOL. Then I remember that brisket in GA ain't exactly cheap and when I do make brisket there's usually not enough "leftovers" for me to hoard for chili. My recipe takes 2 pounds of brisket and my wife doesn't like me to cut into her leftover stash as she loves reheating it up the oven, in foil, with a little bbq sauce (sometimes not) and eating it for lunch here and there.
So......if any of you have entered a Chili Cookoff, can you tell me what to expect?
Thanks!
