Woot does sell a lot of items with just a woot warranty, not the manufacturersand I to would be very cautious. But I take your point and it is a valid one. If I needed to use the slicer every day, I too would look for something more on the commercial side, belt driven. As for the slicer, I have the 665 and it works well for me but certainly not in the class of a large commercial unit slinging a 10 or 12 in blade. I just don't push it hard. My old Rival still works well, but for some cuts the blade was too small at 6 inches.
