Building an outdoor cooking area?

My wife said to build an area to do all my cooking in to get the "stuff" off the deck :P.  I have an area about 18-20' long and can go 6-20' deep to build it.  Here is what I am thinking at the moment, but am open to any suggestions and questions.  The roof and walls will be corrugated metal.

18' x 6' concrete pad.
Posts mounted on the pad.
Building will be enclosed on three sides. (ends and back wall)
Might enclose the front corners 3' each leaving 12' open (not sure yet)
Walls will go down to about 4" from the bottom. (Allow for some airflow and easy cleaning with a pressure washer or leaf blower)
Roof will slope from front (8') to back (6').  Might go 10' to 8'.
Will build an 8' counter (plastic) with sink (cold water only) with storage underneath.
Weber genisis grill and Big Easy SRG will be in there with 100 lb propane bottle.
SI#3 will sit on the counter.
Some shelves on the walls and plastic storage cabinet.
A couple electrical outlets and a few florescent lights over the grills and work areas.

What do you think?

Off the deck?  Decks are meant for multiple grilling units.

Your plan sounds good but whats wrong with what you have?

Oh wait, I'm married too.

Ran out of room.  Don't even have the SI #3 there yet.  Plus will help protect the equipment from the elements and me from standing in the rain.

I'm in the process of designing my backyard for a new house we bought and it will have a raised deck in the back.  I'm planning on pouring 2 concrete pads, one on each side of the deck.  On one side, I'm building a wet bar with frig and sink.  On the other side will be the cooking equipment with power and horseshoe counter space.

Just need to put the finishing touches on my covered cook area...And know for sure I'll be following these two.

Pictures Please!

Cheers,
Don

Sounds like a good plan, Chuck!  I'd figure a way to add some "winter enclosure" capability.  You'll find you can use your #3 all winter in IL, so figure out how to cut some of the wind out of your smoking pad!

Divot,
I will probably add some kind of tarp or curtain across the front to help with the elements, but still be mostly open when using.
