In a cookbook i have i found this rub specifically for brisket:
Its called best odds brisket rub.
1/2 cup paprika
1/2 brown sugar (i have used demerara)
3 tbsp garlic powder
3 tbsp onion powder
2 tbsp oregano
I used vegetable oil as the binder, creates a nice bark.
