Got my auber in this week. AT yesterday but with the factory program settings instead of the ones suggested in SI how to AT auber.... Stupid me right?  I followed all the other instructions during the AT with bricks, etc. So after further reading last night on the forum I decided to re-AT today while I smked a couple of rib racks.  Set up new programms as follows:
C1-170, E1-t, t1-1.0.....C2-235, E2-t, t2-5.5.....C3-140,E3-t, t3-2...

Then I set it to AT..... All was good for first hour but at hour 1.5 i notice temp was still at 170.... AT light is no longer blinking and she seems to be cruising at 170....I'm thinking it should have bumped over to C2 and ramped up to 235.... What AM I missing??? I checked program settings again and all is as i imput above. I checked program number and it still reads P-1...

UPDATE.....at hour 2.0, auber kicked up to 235 as it should be...... Only an hour late.  Could have been due to doing AT at beginning of cook???  Who knows, I will continue to see what happens now.  OBTW, PID on re-AT was P-61, I-436, D-136....

The AT won't be considered as part of the cooking program, so your parameters for C1 wouldn't have been executed until the AT was over - which may have been about an hour into the cook.

Josh nailed it.  That's why it's best to autotune with a "simulated" cook.  Sometimes, it can actually take several hours for the AT to complete!  Bad news for meat in the smoker! :o

Thanks jb and divot.... Fortunately I had first hour at 170 degree and apparently AT took 1 hour..... Meaning first 2 hours were at 170.... And I assumed the worst from this old man so I have "only" 2 racks of spares with a couple of potatoes in the #3. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, the auber continues to be spot on.  Will post report with pics. Thanks again.

Well despite my shaking start, ribs and potatoes turned out great!! Ended up cooking 2 hours at 170 and 4.5 hors at 235.... Potatoes done and tasty, ribs, although not fall off the bone done, were delicious and moist..... Now, I have 12 racks of BBRs to cook next weekend....

Yeah divot..... Hence my urgency in getting my Auber up to speed...... I have 6 racks of BBs to do Sunday and 6 more Monday.  I have 2 parties of 20 to feed..... I'm sure the #3 is up to the task.  Wish me luck! :D
